A Nollywood actress has raised concerns over repeated flight disruptions involving United Nigeria Airline, alleging that the carrier cancelled her scheduled flights twice within 48 hours, leaving her stranded and disrupting her professional commitments.

Bolaji Ogunmola, who had travelled to Ekiti State for a work engagement, was expected to return to Lagos on Wednesday to continue filming on another set. According to her account, the planned return did not materialise as scheduled, with the airline reportedly delaying and subsequently cancelling her flight without prior notice or clear communication.

In a video shared on her Instagram page on Thursday morning, the actress expressed frustration over what she described as a lack of coordination and empathy from the airline. She explained that upon arriving at the airport on Wednesday, passengers were informed that the flight had been delayed due to an unspecified issue. After several hours of waiting, the flight was eventually cancelled.

Ogunmola stated that when she sought alternatives or clarification from airline officials, she was told that nothing could be done. She also explored the possibility of flying out through Akure, but this reportedly yielded no result. She was later informed that a rescheduled flight would depart at 8:00 a.m. the following morning, a development that forced her to incur additional expenses for accommodation and logistics.

However, the situation reportedly worsened on Thursday, as the flight time was repeatedly shifted from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., then to 12:00 p.m., and later to 5:30 p.m. Ogunmola said these changes were communicated only after she had already arrived at the airport early in the morning.

Describing the experience as distressing, the actress noted that the delays affected not just her personal schedule but also her livelihood, as a full production crew was already waiting for her on set in Lagos. She added that she was eventually left with no choice but to consider travelling by road, which she described as unsafe, in order to meet her professional obligations.

Fighting back tears in the video, Ogunmola said she was documenting the incident as evidence and disclosed plans to seek legal redress, stressing that the airline’s actions had caused her emotional, financial, and professional strain.

The incident comes barely a month after the commencement of commercial flight operations at the Ekiti State airport, raising fresh questions about service reliability and passenger communication in the early stages of the route’s operations.
