The Hackathon is targeted exclusively at students in universities, polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Participants are expected to develop practical solutions to real-world challenges spanning the insurance value chain, including customer experience, claims processing, underwriting, distribution, data utilisation, and overall operational efficiency.
Registration for the programme closes on February 16, 2026, while winning teams will be unveiled at the Hackathon Grand Finale scheduled for April. A total prize pool of ₦9 million will be awarded to the top three teams, underscoring the Group’s investment in innovation and youth-led problem solving.
The initiative reinforces Heirs Insurance Group’s broader commitment to youth empowerment, digital skills development, and inclusive innovation. Beyond financial rewards, the programme offers participants exposure to industry experts, mentorship opportunities, and hands-on engagement with real business challenges within the financial services sector.
The Hackathon is being delivered in partnership with Redtech, the digital payment solutions arm of Heirs Holdings. Redtech will provide technical support throughout the programme and participate in reviewing submitted solutions, ensuring that entries are assessed not only on creativity but also on technical feasibility, scalability, and potential real-world impact.
