In a press statement shared on his Instagram page, Nwoko stated that Ann was arrested on allegations of criminal defamation. He said she accused him of physically assaulting his wife, Laila, and claimed that the alleged attack resulted in a miscarriage—an allegation he strongly denied.
The senator maintained that no such incident occurred, and he challenged the credibility of Ann’s claims.
He also made a shocking allegation that Ann had performed an illegal abortion for Regina Daniels while she was still married to him. Nwoko claimed that Regina was forced to swallow weeds, which caused prolonged bleeding, and said the act led to the termination of his unborn child.
Nwoko urged the public to read his full statement, insisting that his actions were necessary to counter what he described as serious falsehoods and criminal behaviour.

In October, Regina Daniels announced the end of her marriage to Nwoko, citing domestic violence as her reason for leaving. Nwoko, however, later attributed the breakdown of the marriage to Regina’s alleged drug and alcohol abuse.
