Global rap superstar Nicki Minaj has publicly declared herself Donald Trump’s “number one fan”, saying that criticism of the former president only deepens her support.

The statement came during the Trump Accounts Summit, where Minaj also endorsed the “Trump Accounts” initiative, a programme designed to provide trust funds for children.

Dressed in a furry white coat, Minaj addressed the crowd, saying:

“I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change. And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all.
It actually motivates me to support him more. He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him. Amen.”

The former president appeared to welcome her remarks, holding her hand as she spoke. Earlier in the event, Trump had joked about growing his nails to match Minaj’s style.

Minaj also announced that she plans to contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to the Trump Accounts programme, which provides financial support to children through trust funds.

The rapper has previously made headlines for her political involvement. In November, she made a surprise appearance at the United Nations, calling for an end to faith-based persecution in Nigeria—an allegation raised by the Trump administration that the Nigerian government has denied.
