Manufacturing conglomerate Tolaram Africa has appointed consumer and market insight expert, Obabueki Aigbogun, as its new Head of Consumer Insights, strengthening the company’s drive toward deeper consumer-focused decision-making.

In his new role, Aigbogun will lead efforts to accelerate Tolaram Africa’s consumer-centric agenda by ensuring that consumer insights and data-driven intelligence guide strategic and operational decisions across the business. His appointment underscores the group’s commitment to embedding the voice of the consumer at the heart of its growth strategy.

Before joining Tolaram Africa, Aigbogun served as Africa Food and Beverage Insights Manager at PepsiCo, where he was responsible for generating actionable insights to support brand and category growth across multiple African markets.

With over 11 years of professional experience spanning market research agencies and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies, Aigbogun brings extensive expertise in guiding business decisions through data. He is well-versed in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, applying a wide range of research techniques to address complex marketing and business challenges.

His career experience cuts across several sectors, including FMCG—covering food and beverages, home and personal care, and tobacco—as well as telecommunications, financial services, and social and environmental research. These roles have provided him with a deep understanding of African markets and consumer behaviour across diverse categories.

Aigbogun began his professional journey at Cadelle Travel and Tours Limited as a Sales Executive, where he supported clients in making travel decisions, negotiated competitive deals, and developed tailored travel packages. He later joined Etisalat Nigeria (now 9mobile) as a Customer Care Representative, handling customer issues and gathering valuable feedback on products and services.

His career progression also includes roles at GfK as a Trainee Research Executive and at Kantar Millward Brown, where he worked as a Client Service and Research Manager, further honing his expertise in consumer insights and strategic research.

Academically, Aigbogun holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Benin.

His appointment is expected to play a key role in strengthening Tolaram Africa’s understanding of consumer needs and supporting sustainable business growth across its portfolio.
