Record producer and singer Rexxie has stirred controversy after claiming that fellow artiste Seyi Vibes is an “industry plant,” alleging that the singer’s rise to fame was carefully planned rather than organic.
Speaking during a recent TikTok livestream, the Abracadabra crooner alleged that Seyi Vibes and his team attempted to manufacture a rivalry with Asake in a bid to gain attention but were unsuccessful. According to Rexxie, the alleged move was ignored by Asake’s camp.
“Seyi Vibes’ blow was an orchestration and a bit of divine arrangement,” Rexxie said. “It was orchestrated in the sense that those behind him planned it. It was well planned. Let’s not deceive ourselves.”
He further claimed that efforts were made to force a public feud between Seyi Vibes and Asake for clout. “Seyi Vibes and his team even tried to force a beef with Asake but got snubbed. I don’t want to go into details, but it is understandable that Seyi Vibes’ blow was orchestrated,” he added.
The comments have sparked debate among fans and industry observers, with some questioning the notion of “industry plants” within the Nigerian music scene. As of the time of filing this report, Seyi Vibes has not responded to the allegations.
