Modise made the remarks following Nigeria’s 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria on Saturday, a match in which Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams scored to secure the Super Eagles’ passage to the semi-finals.
“Nigeria and Morocco are the two best teams right now at the AFCON, in terms of how they play football. Nigeria are the best attacking team at this AFCON,” Modise said during an appearance on SuperSport. “If you look at the game against Algeria in its entirety, it was expected for Nigeria to dominate the game. Osimhen and Iwobi stood out.”
The comments highlight the growing attention on both sides as they prepare to meet in a highly anticipated semi-final clash on Wednesday, with a place in the tournament final at stake.
Modise’s praise reflects Nigeria’s attacking prowess and Morocco’s consistent performances throughout the tournament, signaling a potential showdown between two of the continent’s most in-form sides.
