Visa, Access Bank Launch Corporate Credit Card to Transform Expense Management for Nigerian Enterprises
Visa, the global digital payments leader, has partnered with Access Bank to introduce a new Corporate Credit Card solution aimed at medium to large enterprises in Nigeria. The initiative seeks to modernize corporate finance management by providing businesses with a dual-purpose tool that streamlines working capital and digitizes operational expenses.
The Access Bank Visa Corporate Credit Card is designed to equip finance teams with real-time visibility and control over corporate spending. According to Andrew Uaboi, Vice President & Cluster Head for West Africa at Visa, the solution reflects the company’s commitment to enabling businesses to thrive in a digital economy. “Visa is committed to digitizing payments and providing businesses with the tools they need to thrive in a digital economy. The Access Bank Visa Corporate Credit Card solution brings seamless, accountable, and data-driven expense management to medium and large organizations, helping them make smarter financial decisions,” he said.
Florence Owuor, Head of Cards Business at Access Bank, emphasized the card’s dual benefit of improving cash-flow efficiency and operational productivity. “In line with our values of innovation and passion for customers, Access Bank is pleased to introduce the Access Visa Corporate Credit Card, designed to deliver both cash-flow efficiency and operational time optimization. With the added advantage of Visa Spend Clarity, finance teams can seamlessly manage and monitor corporate expenses in real time, all at the click of a button,” she said.
Digital Tools for Smarter Governance
A standout feature of the partnership is the integration of the Access Bank Visa Spend Clarity web portal and mobile app. The platform provides organizations with granular data and actionable insights into corporate spending, tracking every transaction by employee, branch, or department. This level of visibility strengthens corporate governance by reducing the risks of fraudulent claims, invoice inflation, and misclassified personal expenses.
The card also offers a robust working capital solution, including an interest-free period of up to 45 days. This allows Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and Corporate Treasurers to optimize cash flow, pay suppliers early, and maintain a healthy Days Payables Outstanding (DPO) period—all critical levers for sustaining business growth.
Streamlining Operational Expenses
Beyond working capital management, the Access Bank Visa Corporate Credit Card addresses the need for digitized operational expense tracking. Companies can issue cards to relevant employees or departments, allowing seamless tracking of OPEX—including travel, entertainment, fuel, office equipment, and other procurement—while reducing reliance on cash-heavy processes.
To help businesses maximize the benefits of this new solution, Visa and Access Bank plan to host monthly webinars over the coming months. These sessions will target CFOs and Corporate Treasurers, providing guidance on optimizing expense management, leveraging the card’s features, and driving efficiency in corporate finance operations.
By combining Visa’s global payments expertise with Access Bank’s local market knowledge, the new corporate credit card positions Nigerian enterprises to embrace digital finance solutions that enhance transparency, accountability, and operational agility.
