Wema Bank, widely recognized as Nigeria’s most innovative bank and the pioneer behind Africa’s first fully digital banking platform, has launched the upgraded version of its flagship digital banking app, ALAT by Wema. The new version, tagged ALAT: The Evolution, promises a smarter, faster, and more intuitive banking experience, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to technology-driven financial solutions.
The upgraded platform marks a significant leap in how customers interact with their bank. It introduces cutting-edge features such as voice banking, branded SAW, enabling users to execute banking transactions using natural voice commands, and Tap and Pay, a secure, contactless payment feature for seamless transactions. Additionally, uptime prediction technology informs customers about service availability in advance, ensuring greater transparency and reliability. Collectively, these features aim to simplify daily banking while anticipating customer needs in real time, reflecting Wema Bank’s focus on trust, efficiency, and customer-centric innovation.

The migration process for existing customers is seamless. Users can update the ALAT app via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and continue to use their existing login credentials. All account information and transaction histories remain intact, alongside access to the new features that make banking faster and more intuitive. New customers can onboard easily by downloading the app and selecting the Get Started icon.
