In a heartfelt statement released on Monday, the actress explained that her birthday fell on Thursday, February 5, but she chose to celebrate with friends and loved ones on Sunday. She revealed that she was not informed of her mother’s death at the time, and only learned about it later, describing the decision to withhold the news as “cruel.”

“Unbeknownst to me, my beloved mother died on the eve of my party and the news was cruelly kept away from me.
The reality of her passing has not totally dawned on me because she was my cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner wrapped in the invaluable gift of a mother.”
Faithia added that she has found solace in her faith, while the family has chosen to keep the matter private for now. She also appealed for prayers and support for herself and her siblings during the grieving period.
