Wood joins Disney after nearly four years at Paramount Pictures, where she served as EVP of Casting since 2020. In that role, she oversaw casting across Paramount’s feature film slate, working closely with filmmakers and studio leadership to shape casting strategy.
At Disney, Wood will report to David Greenbaum, President of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios. She will lead casting efforts across Disney’s live-action labels, including Disney Live Action, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures, collaborating with executives and creative teams to support both studio and filmmaker-driven projects.
Before rising into studio leadership, Wood established a highly regarded independent casting career alongside longtime collaborator Deborah Aquila. Together, the pair built a casting portfolio that spans more than two decades and includes several commercially successful and critically acclaimed films.
Wood’s casting credits include major franchise and award-winning titles such as Twilight, La La Land, Wonder, Underworld, The Age of Adaline, The Lost City, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, IF, and CODA — the Academy Award–winning drama that earned widespread praise for its ensemble casting.
Industry observers note that Wood’s work has helped launch major franchises, introduce breakout talent, and assemble ensembles that blend established stars with emerging voices.
She is also a multiple-time Casting Society of America Artios Award winner, recognized for films including CODA, La La Land, My Week With Marilyn, and RED.
Disney’s appointment signals a continued focus on building strong casting leadership across its expanding live-action portfolio, which has included a mix of franchise tentpoles and prestige projects in recent years.
