Originally released in 2000, “Stan”—a haunting collaboration with Dido—has been issued on vinyl for the first time, tapping into renewed collector demand. The limited release has proven powerful enough to send the track straight into the upper tier of multiple British rankings.
Top 10 Debut on the Official Vinyl Singles Chart
“Stan” debuts at No. 3 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, which ranks the bestselling vinyl tracks across the U.K. The placement marks the rapper’s highest-ever position on the format-specific tally.
His only previous appearance on the chart came in November 2020, when “My Name Is” peaked at No. 5. With this latest entry, “Stan” sets a new personal best for the Grammy-winning artist in the vinyl category.
Blocked From No. 1
Despite the strong showing, two titles keep “Stan” from the summit. Olivia Dean claims the top spot with “So Easy (To Fall in Love),” a fresh release from her sophomore album The Art of Loving. Meanwhile, Laufey secures No. 2 with “Valentine,” which reenters the chart amid continued fan interest.
Limited Edition Quickly Sells Out
The vinyl edition of “Stan” was released via Eminem’s official store as a collectible package styled like a letter—an aesthetic nod to the song’s narrative concept. The release also includes “Bad Guy,” a sequel track that originally appeared on The Marshall Mathers LP 2, as its B-side.
Priced at $40, the single quickly sold out, underscoring both the enduring popularity of Eminem’s catalog and the sustained commercial power of vinyl as a premium format.
Multiple Chart Appearances
Beyond its success on the vinyl-exclusive ranking, “Stan” also debuts at No. 10 on the broader Official Singles Sales chart, which combines physical formats and digital downloads. The placement earns Eminem his seventh career top 10 on that tally.
The track additionally reenters the Official Physical Singles chart at No. 3—matching its vinyl-only debut. Notably, “Stan” previously reached No. 1 on that ranking in late 2000, during the height of the CD single era.
Three Songs Chart Simultaneously
“Stan” is not Eminem’s only presence on the U.K. charts this week. “Love the Way You Lie,” his blockbuster collaboration with Rihanna, climbs to No. 35 on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Singles chart. Meanwhile, “Smack That,” recorded with Akon, holds steady at No. 38.
Interestingly, despite its vinyl momentum, “Stan” does not appear on that genre-specific ranking.
A quarter century after its initial release, “Stan” is once again proving its cultural and commercial staying power—this time powered by collectors, nostalgia, and the continuing revival of vinyl.
