Galatasaray have reportedly inserted an €80 million release clause in Victor Osimhen’s contract as interest intensifies from Spanish giants Barcelona.

Osimhen, widely regarded as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards, continues to attract attention across the continent following another impressive campaign. The Nigerian international has scored 15 goals and registered one assist in 21 appearances in all competitions this season.

The Super Eagles striker has also made his mark on the continental stage, finding the net six times in the UEFA Champions League for the Turkish Süper Lig champions.

The 27-year-old only joined Galatasaray last summer in a club-record €75 million transfer, but his consistent performances have quickly placed him on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs.

According to Turkish outlet Haberlisin, Barcelona are weighing up a move for the forward as they begin planning for life after Robert Lewandowski. The Catalan club are reportedly in the market for a long-term attacking solution and view Osimhen as a strong candidate to lead their frontline in the coming years.

With an €80 million release clause now set, any interested club would have a clear benchmark for negotiations as Galatasaray aim to protect their prized asset while bracing for potential offers in the next transfer window.
