Before her break, Enem built a loyal following through The Krystn Enem Show, which first aired on PRTV before expanding to Africa Magic Urban on DStv and GOtv. The show earned acclaim for its relaxed, conversational style and featured interviews with some of Nigeria’s biggest entertainment figures, including Olamide, Falz, Yemi Alade, Simi, Lolo, Denrele Edun and JJC Skillz.
In a statement on Sunday, Enem explained that her departure from television was not planned but became necessary after nearly a decade of relentless work.
“I took a break because I was tired — mentally, emotionally, physically, psychologically. Everything. I was even financially tired,” she said, describing the toll of working non-stop for almost 10 years. “My body just shut down. I couldn’t think.”
According to her, what began as a short creative pause gradually extended into years away from the screen. A week of creative block turned into months, and a six-month break ultimately stretched into eight years as life events unfolded.
During that time, Enem experienced significant personal milestones, including motherhood and relocating to the United States — changes she described as transformative and necessary for growth.
Now re-entering the media space, she has launched a digital-first podcast, Conversations with Krystn Enem, available on YouTube and Spotify. The project focuses on personal development, identity, relationships and emotional well-being, marking what she calls a new chapter that blends her broadcasting background with corporate experience gained abroad.
“Growth happens when we start talking. Life moves fast, but here, we slow it down,” Enem said, signalling a reflective and purpose-driven return to public life.
