The resignation, dated January 31 and signed by Wingtech’s board, comes amid heightened uncertainty surrounding Nexperia’s operations after Dutch government and court actions in late 2024. Since September and October, Nexperia’s European production division and its Chinese packaging and distribution arm have reportedly failed to cooperate, deepening the firm’s operational challenges.
Wingtech said Zhang’s departure will not affect day-to-day operations. Reuters was unable to reach Zhang for comment, and the company declined to provide additional details beyond confirming she is not related to Wingtech founder and former Nexperia CEO Zhang Xuezheng.
The company’s share price fell sharply after the loss forecast was announced, reflecting investor concern over the deteriorating situation at Nexperia. The case now awaits a critical legal decision: a Dutch court is expected to rule by February 11 on whether to open an investigation into alleged mismanagement at Nexperia or to restore Wingtech’s control over the subsidiary.
