The Association of Movie Producers of Nigeria has partnered with the US-based AI/VR Motion Picture Guild to host an international AI and storytelling workshop, marking a major global collaboration between film and technology.

The AI/VR Motion Picture Guild, a San Francisco nonprofit professional association, focuses on emerging media technologies and is collaborating with AMP, led by Blessing Ebigieson, and EPIC ACG FEST to develop the educational programme. EPIC ACG Fest, which has a 13-year history and is part of global chains of festivals including the Universe Multicultural Film Festival and San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival, will support the initiative as an international platform for animation, comics, games, and AI-generated content (AIGC).

The program is designed to connect filmmakers, producers, artists, technologists, and educators across America, Africa, and the global creative ecosystem to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence, generative media, virtual production, and prompt-driven storytelling in contemporary film production.

Participants will engage with AI filmmaking workflows, generative storytelling frameworks, prompt engineering for cinematic production, and immersive media development. The workshop provides a platform for professional knowledge exchange and cross-continental collaboration within the global film industry.

“The workshop is designed for filmmakers, digital artists, creative technologists, designers, producers, and storytellers interested in integrating AI tools and generative technologies into narrative filmmaking and visual storytelling pipelines,” the organisations said in a joint statement. The session is scheduled to hold virtually in April.

The initiative aims to support the development of AI cinema, generative film production, immersive storytelling, and digital media innovation, while also strengthening international partnerships between creative industries in the United States, Africa, and Asia.
