Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has offered fresh insight into her forthcoming third studio album, describing it as a deeply personal project that reflects her transition into womanhood and artistic maturity.
The 23-year-old made the revelation during an appearance on Apple Music Radio Takeover, where she spoke candidly about her evolving sound and mindset in the studio. According to the singer, the new body of work captures a period of growth, experimentation, and self-discovery.
Ayra Starr explained that her music now mirrors her life experiences more closely, noting a shift toward exploring different sounds while embracing a freer, more expressive creative process. She admitted that at a point she became overly serious about her craft, but has since rediscovered the joy that first drew her to music.
Describing the album as a journey, she said it represents a conscious effort to let go, have fun, and reconnect with her artistic instincts. “I brought the fun back, and we’re enjoying ourselves,” she said, underscoring the project’s lighter and more vibrant tone.
Although the album’s title has yet to be officially announced, anticipation continues to build following the release of its lead single, Where Do We Go, which offers an early glimpse into the direction of the upcoming record.
The project is expected to further cement Ayra Starr’s place as one of Afrobeats’ leading voices, as she continues to evolve both musically and personally.
