American singer Britney Jean Spears, widely known as the “Princess of Pop,” was arrested in California on March 4 for allegedly driving under the influence, according to police reports.

The arrest occurred shortly after 9 p.m., and Spears was released the following morning. Court records indicate she is scheduled to appear in court on May 4 at 8:15 a.m. local time to address the charges.

In a statement to E! Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being,” the statement read.
