Nigeria’s leading instant noodle brand Indomie has thrown its weight behind a nationwide advocacy campaign led by 15-year-old autism champion Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo, who is embarking on a record-attempting cycling journey from Enugu to Lagos.

The initiative, themed “Journey of Possibility, #RideWithKanye,” aims to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder and promote inclusion for individuals living on the spectrum. The cross-country ride will take the teenager through multiple Nigerian cities, combining endurance cycling with grassroots advocacy and public engagement.

Organisers say the expedition is also an official attempt to secure a Guinness World Records title as the youngest autistic individual to complete such a journey. The ride is scheduled to culminate in Lagos on World Autism Awareness Day, aligning the effort with international calls for acceptance and support.

According to Indomie, its involvement reflects a broader commitment to spotlighting young Nigerians who demonstrate courage and resilience. The company’s Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager, Temitope Ashiwaju, said the initiative underscores the importance of empowering children to pursue ambitious goals.

Kanyeyachukwu first gained national recognition through the Indomie Heroes Awards, a platform that celebrates children who have made significant impact through bravery and determination. Since then, he has continued to advocate for autism awareness through creative expression and public engagement.

Through the current campaign, the young cyclist hopes to challenge stereotypes and highlight the potential of individuals on the autism spectrum when given the right support systems.

As part of its sponsorship, Indomie will provide branded cycling gear, financial backing, and logistical support for the journey. The campaign will also feature community activations at various stops, where awareness sessions and public interactions will be held to educate communities and encourage dialogue around autism.

To ensure safety throughout the expedition, a dedicated team comprising medical personnel, logistics coordinators, and support cyclists will accompany the ride. Host communities along the route are also expected to organise welcome events and awareness activities.

The journey will conclude with a reception in Lagos, bringing together advocates, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate the milestone and reinforce the message of inclusion.

The initiative adds to Indomie’s growing portfolio of youth-focused programmes, positioning the brand as a key supporter of initiatives that highlight resilience, advocacy, and the potential of young Nigerians.
