The development follows a series of allegations previously raised by Kafayat, who had publicly accused the singer of forcibly taking the children after the recent death of their first child, Jamal. She had also alleged domestic abuse and claimed she was abandoned while caring for their three children—circumstances she linked to the tragic loss of their teenage son, whom she said died from depression.
In her earlier appeal, Kafayat called on the public and relevant authorities to intervene and assist her in reclaiming custody of the children.
Confirmation of the latest development came via an Instagram post by actress and podcast host Biola Adebayo, known for Talk to B. She disclosed that Kafayat was able to reunite with her children through the intervention of concerned individuals and the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).
Sharing a photo of the reunion, Adebayo described the outcome as a long-awaited victory for the mother following a period marked by personal loss and public controversy.
The case has drawn attention to issues surrounding domestic disputes, child custody, and mental health, while also highlighting the role of state institutions and public advocacy in resolving sensitive family matters.
