Nigerian actress and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has emphasised the importance of maintaining clear boundaries between personal life and public persona in the digital space.
Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, the media personality explained that she is deliberate about how much of her private life she shares online, noting that her identity as an individual is distinct from her brand.
According to her, she has drawn “a very thick line” between her personal life as Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori and her professional identity as Kiekie. She highlighted that her brand is built around being an event and TV host, actor, and comic content creator, and that her content is carefully tailored to reflect those elements.
Kiekie also revealed that her husband, Tunji Ilori, does not feature in her content, joking that he is “not funny.” Beyond humour, she stressed that the decision aligns with her broader stance on preserving aspects of her private life.
The actress further cautioned fellow creators against the temptation to overextend viral moments, warning that excessive posting can quickly become repetitive and off-putting to audiences.
“We overmilk viral moments until it becomes annoying. And that is where oversharing comes in,” she said.
Her remarks add to ongoing conversations within the content creation space about authenticity, privacy, and the balance between audience engagement and personal boundaries.
