Animated Blockbusters Continue to Power Billboard’s Top Movie Songs Chart

The dominance of animated cinema is once again reverberating far beyond the box office and into the music world. For the second consecutive month, the top three positions on Billboard’s Top Movie Songs chart — powered by Tunefind — are claimed by tracks from two of 2025’s most successful animated releases: KPop Demon Hunters and Zootopia 2.

The Top Movie Songs chart blends film and song data supplied by Tunefind with U.S. streaming and sales figures tracked by Luminate during January 2026. The ranking typically spotlights newly released films from the past three months, though exceptions are made for titles whose music continues to generate substantial public interest — a category where KPop Demon Hunters clearly remains a standout.

“Golden” Extends Its Reign

At No. 1 for a seventh consecutive month is HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” the breakout anthem from KPop Demon Hunters. The track previously ruled the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks in mid-2025 and has shown remarkable staying power. After briefly dipping during the holiday rush, “Golden” surged back into the Hot 100’s top 10 at No. 2 and held within the top four throughout January.

According to Luminate, the song amassed 99.4 million official on-demand U.S. streams in January 2026, along with 23,000 downloads — numbers that reinforce its cross-platform appeal nearly a year after its debut.

The film’s soundtrack, which previously spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, continues to flood the chart. Seven tracks from the album appear in the current Top Movie Songs ranking. Just behind “Golden” at No. 2 is Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop,” which tallied 40.6 million streams and 5,000 downloads in January alone.

Shakira Scores Again With ‘Zoo’

Breaking up KPop Demon Hunters’ near-sweep of the top tier is Shakira’s “Zoo,” featured in Zootopia 2. The track holds at No. 3 for the second month running, fueled by 31.8 million streams and 6,000 downloads in January.

“Zoo” also made a notable debut on the Hot 100 at No. 77 dated Jan. 10, echoing the performance of Shakira’s earlier animated hit, “Try Everything,” from the original Zootopia, which peaked at No. 63 in 2016. The Colombian superstar’s renewed presence underscores how animated franchises continue to provide fertile ground for pop crossovers.

A New Entry From ‘Avatar’

The month’s sole debut in the top 10 comes from Miley Cyrus. Her song “Dream As One,” from Avatar: Fire and Ash, opens at No. 10 following the film’s Dec. 19 release. The track posted 15.9 million streams and 1,000 downloads in January, signaling early momentum as the film expands its theatrical run.

Elsewhere on the chart, music from KPop Demon Hunters continues to dominate the mid-tier positions, while “For Good” from Wicked: For Good — performed by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande — maintains a presence at No. 9.
