Irele Tower, conceived for both office and retail use, integrates sustainable design principles inspired by its proximity to the Lekki Deep Sea Port. According to project specifications, the eco-friendly structure delivers 26% energy savings and a 46% reduction in water consumption, aligning with global green-building standards through EDGE, an initiative of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) under the World Bank Group.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the project’s role in unlocking the full economic potential of the Ibeju-Lekki axis. He highlighted the synergy between public and private sector collaboration in advancing infrastructure, creating jobs, and positioning Lagos as a leading commercial hub in Africa. “The commissioning of Irele Tower demonstrates what strong collaboration between the public and private sectors can achieve. It enhances the infrastructure profile of the Lagos Free Zone and supports our vision of making Lagos a premier destination for investment and economic activities,” the governor said.

Adesuwa Ladoja, Managing Director and CEO of Lagos Free Zone, described the tower as a response to rising investor demand for premium commercial spaces. She noted that the project reflects the zone’s commitment to building an integrated business ecosystem supported by modern infrastructure, strategic location, and efficient logistics. “The commissioning of Irele Tower marks a defining moment in our journey to develop a world-class industrial and commercial hub. It sets a new standard for workspace in this corridor,” she said.
Spanning approximately 12,000 square metres, Irele Tower offers modern office suites, retail outlets, parking facilities, shared workspaces, and a rooftop cafeteria, creating a fully integrated environment for businesses. Its maritime-inspired design, influenced by the nearby deep-sea port, combines aesthetic efficiency with sustainable functionality, reinforcing the tower as a benchmark for future developments in Lagos and beyond.
The inauguration signals a renewed focus on sustainable urban development along the Lekki corridor, reflecting ongoing investments aimed at supporting industrial expansion and positioning Lagos as a preferred destination for local and international investors.
