The Smart ID Card is a dual-function solution, serving as both the university’s official identification credential and a secure debit card powered by LOTUS Bank. The innovation enables seamless identity verification, controlled campus access, and safe financial transactions on and off campus.

The initiative is expected to streamline administrative processes, improve operational efficiency across faculties and departments, and deepen students’ financial literacy. By embedding debit functionality into the ID card, the project promotes cashless transactions while supporting the university’s broader transition toward a technology-driven academic ecosystem.
Heckerbella, as the technology and implementation partner, manages comprehensive data capture for students and staff, as well as the secure production and issuance of the Smart ID Cards. The system is designed to ensure data accuracy, robust security, and operational efficiency throughout deployment.
During the launch, Vice Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola formally presented the Smart ID Cards to students and staff, highlighting the university’s commitment to innovation and strategic partnerships that improve service delivery and enhance campus life.
