In a move poised to reshape Nigeria’s automotive retail sector, Mikano Motors has announced a strategic partnership with Autochek Africa, aiming to make new vehicles more accessible through digital discovery tools and innovative financing options.

The collaboration was formally launched on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Mikano’s showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos. During the unveiling, executives emphasized that the partnership marks a significant shift in how Nigerians can explore, finance, and ultimately own vehicles in a technology-driven market.

Through the alliance, customers can now browse Mikano’s complete lineup—including models from Changan, Maxus, and Deepal—via a dedicated virtual showroom hosted on Autochek’s platform. The online interface allows prospective buyers to compare models, review technical specifications, apply for structured automotive loans, evaluate different payment plans, and receive credit decisions—all without stepping into a physical dealership.

Joelle Haykal, Group Executive Director of Mikano Motors, highlighted that the partnership aligns with the company’s long-standing commitment to delivering a full ownership experience rather than simply selling vehicles. She pointed out that Mikano offers warranties of up to six years or 200,000 kilometres, along with nationwide after-sales support, underpinned by over 30 years of industry experience.

“Our focus has always been on providing confidence alongside mobility,” Haykal said. “Our vehicles are engineered to handle Nigerian roads, and this partnership introduces smarter financing pathways that give customers flexibility and control over their ownership journey.”

From Autochek Africa’s perspective, the collaboration strengthens ties with a trusted original equipment manufacturer while expanding the company’s embedded financing capabilities. Etop Ikpe, Autochek’s Chief Executive Officer, noted that vehicle demand in Nigeria has consistently outpaced available financing options.

“By integrating Mikano’s vehicle range with our financing technology and network of banking partners, we can provide faster approvals and multiple loan options suited to varying income levels. This opens the door for more Nigerians to purchase brand-new vehicles,” Ikpe explained.

Industry observers see the launch of Mikano’s virtual showroom as part of a broader transformation in Nigeria’s automotive landscape. Digital platforms are increasingly shaping consumer choices, merging the convenience of online research with the reassurance of traditional showroom experiences. Analysts suggest that this convergence could set a new standard for dealerships seeking to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

Mikano Motors, a division of Mikano International, represents several global automotive brands and is renowned for delivering quality vehicles, reliable after-sales service, and mobility solutions tailored to local conditions. Autochek Africa, meanwhile, continues to establish itself as a leading automotive technology company on the continent, using data and partnerships to simplify vehicle buying, selling, and financing.

Together, the companies say this partnership signals a new era in vehicle discovery, financing, and ownership—not only in Nigeria but across Africa’s expanding digital marketplace.
