Transcorp Energy, Renewvia Solar Sign MOU to Expand Renewable Energy Projects Across Nigeria, Africa

Transcorp Energy Limited (“Transcorp Energy”), the integrated energy development and services arm of Transnational Corporation Plc, has entered into a strategic partnership with Renewvia Solar Nigeria Limited, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on renewable energy development, construction, and operations in Nigeria, with plans to extend across the African continent.

The partnership aims to deliver renewable energy solutions to a broad spectrum of users, including commercial, industrial, and residential customers, as well as selected off-grid communities deemed commercially viable. The projects will integrate both grid-connected and off-grid platforms, providing a flexible approach to addressing energy shortages and supporting economic growth.

According to the agreement, the initiative will not only expand access to clean and reliable power but also create opportunities for the aggregation and monetisation of Renewable Energy Credits generated from the developed projects.

Speaking on the collaboration, Chris Ezeafulukwe, Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Energy, said:
"At Transcorp Group, we are committed to bridging Africa’s energy deficit. This partnership with Renewvia Energy is a significant step toward achieving Transcorp Energy’s strategic objective of delivering consistent renewable energy solutions across the economy. We plan to leverage both grid and off-grid solutions to ensure clean, sustainable power reaches end users efficiently."

Trey Jarrard, CEO of Renewvia, added:
"Nigeria represents a cornerstone market for Renewvia’s Africa strategy. By partnering with Transcorp Energy, we can rapidly scale our operations by anchoring projects to high-quality assets and trusted institutions. This collaboration allows us to provide long-term value through resilient, cost-effective clean energy solutions and reflects our commitment to expanding reliable renewable energy across Africa."

The partnership underscores a shared long-term vision to establish a scalable, pan-African renewable energy business. Both companies intend to develop solutions capable of supporting diverse energy market segments, addressing Africa’s growing energy gap, and promoting sustainable economic development.
