Galatasaray have been urged to rely on the experience and firepower of Mauro Icardi following the temporary absence of Victor Osimhen, who is currently sidelined with a hand injury.

The Nigerian striker picked up the injury during Galatasaray’s recent UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool FC, leaving a significant gap in the team’s attacking line at a crucial stage of the season.

Turkish football commentator Erman Tüzemen believes the responsibility now firmly rests on Icardi to lead the line and deliver goals. According to him, the Argentine forward must go beyond a supporting role and fully embrace the burden of spearheading the club’s attack.

Tüzemen stressed that Icardi owes a level of commitment not only to the team but also to the club’s leadership, including head coach Okan Buruk and president Dursun Özbek. He suggested that both figures have stood by the striker through personal challenges, and now is the time for him to repay that faith on the pitch.

In his remarks, Tüzemen also called for accountability within the player’s camp, urging club management to address concerns surrounding Icardi’s agent and overall conduct. He added that a renewed focus and a return to top scoring form would not only benefit the player personally but also strengthen Galatasaray’s ambitions in domestic and European competitions.

With Osimhen’s return date uncertain, the spotlight now shifts squarely onto Icardi as Galatasaray look to maintain momentum and remain competitive across all fronts.
