Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has spoken publicly about his strained relationship with filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele, shedding light on what he described as a sudden breakdown in their long-standing friendship.
During a recent livestream, Fabiyi alleged that the relationship became distant shortly after he informed Akindele that he had completed building his house. According to him, that moment marked the last time they communicated, despite no known disagreement between them.
The actor expressed disappointment with what he perceives as a lack of sincerity within the Nigerian film industry, commonly known as Nollywood. He claimed that appearances in the industry can be misleading, with some individuals projecting kindness that does not reflect their true character.
“Our industry is very terrible. Those whom you think are good people aren’t,” Fabiyi said, adding that he was surprised by the abrupt end to his communication with Akindele.
While Akindele has not publicly responded to the claims, Fabiyi’s remarks have sparked conversations about relationships and authenticity within the entertainment space.
