The development was announced in a statement by the Cross River State Government following Sultana’s courtesy visit to Governor Bassey Otu at his country residence in Adiabo, Odukpani Local Government Area.
Governor Otu welcomed the visit, noting its significance during the Easter period, and praised Sultana for taking the time to engage with the state. He highlighted her roots in Cross River and expressed pride in celebrating indigenes who excel nationally and internationally.
“We are building a Cross River State that will lead Nigeria in the creative economy. We have put down a solid foundation to make our state the next destination, be it in culture, heritage, or social expression. Now that you have attained this level, there must be time and energy to sustain and even move forward. We will be part of that engine, that catalyst, that will continue to support you to even greater heights,” Otu said.
The governor commended Sultana’s performance on Big Brother Naija, describing her journey as a testament to resilience and courage in a competitive arena. He further underscored the growing importance of the creative economy in the state and expressed openness to collaborating with her to strengthen Cross River’s standing in culture, tourism, and entertainment. Otu added that the government is positioning the state as a leading destination in Nigeria’s creative and tourism sectors through ongoing investments in infrastructure and cultural promotion, assuring her of institutional support to sustain her growth and expand her influence.
