The dominant display came during a 60-minute training match at the Goal Project on Saturday, where the Nigerian side asserted control from the outset, racing to a 4–0 lead by half-time before heavy rainfall forced an early end to proceedings in the 54th minute.
The goals were evenly shared across the squad in a performance that highlighted both attacking depth and sharpness in front of goal. Shavih Istifanus set the tone almost immediately, scoring within the first minute, before Tobiloba Sarafa added a quickfire brace in the 10th and 23rd minutes.
Harmony Chidi extended the advantage in the 28th minute, while Aminat Adebisi added a fifth just before the break. Precious Paul completed the scoring early in the second half before the weather interruption brought the game to a close.
The friendly is part of an ongoing training camp in Abuja, where Busari has assembled a 36-player squad as Nigeria fine-tunes preparations for its second-round qualifying tie against Guinea. The group includes five goalkeepers, 10 defenders, 13 midfielders, and eight forwards, currently camped at Serob Legacy Hotel.
Busari, who recently assumed the role following the departure of Bankole Olowookere, is overseeing his first major assignment with the team as they target qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup scheduled to take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 7, 2026.
Nigeria’s qualifying campaign will see them face Guinea over two legs, with the first match scheduled away between May 22 and 24, while the return fixture will be staged in Abuja on May 30.
As part of continued buildup, the Flamingos are also scheduled to play another friendly against Nazareth Queens, with coaching staff using the matches to evaluate fitness levels, tactical discipline, and squad balance ahead of competitive action.
