A temporary operational disruption has affected flight activities at the domestic terminals of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, leading to delays in passenger boarding and departures.

Airport management disclosed on Monday that the issue stems from a technical fault in baggage screening equipment, which has significantly slowed down standard processing procedures. As a result, passengers may experience longer wait times before boarding their flights.

In an official update, the airport acknowledged the inconvenience caused and appealed for patience from travellers. To mitigate the situation, alternative screening arrangements have been deployed using available equipment to maintain safety and ensure that flight operations continue.

Despite these contingency measures, authorities cautioned that the additional processes could still lead to delays in some departures. Ground staff have been fully mobilised to assist passengers, provide timely updates, and prioritise flights most affected by the disruption.

Management also noted that efforts are ongoing in collaboration with relevant airport authorities to resolve the technical issue promptly and restore normal operations.

Passengers were assured that all necessary steps are being taken to minimise the impact on travel plans, while the airport pledged to provide further updates as the situation improves.
