Academic activities at the University of Jos are set to regain momentum as the institution’s management has approved the continuation of first semester examinations from Monday, April 13, 2026. The decision follows a temporary disruption caused by heightened security concerns within the state.

The directive was reached during a management meeting held on Friday, April 3, 2026, where university authorities assessed the implications of recent threats to student safety. The situation had earlier necessitated an extension of the Easter holiday and the postponement of several examination papers initially scheduled from March 30.

In an official statement issued by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations, Emmanuel Madugu, the university confirmed that all pending examinations will resume on the announced date, beginning with those previously deferred.

Students were advised to liaise with their respective Faculty Examinations Timetable Officers for updated schedules and further guidance regarding the resumption.

The university management also reassured students who remained on campus during the period of uncertainty, noting that security measures have been significantly reinforced to ensure their safety. Students and staff have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the University Security Division.

Meanwhile, normal academic and administrative activities are expected to fully resume on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, as the institution continues to work closely with relevant security agencies to maintain peace and order within the campus community.
