Lagos nightlife brand Vaniti Lagos has firmly rejected allegations circulating online that it served fake or adulterated alcoholic beverages to customers, describing the claims as false, misleading, and inconsistent with its supply operations.

In an official statement released via the Instagram account of its CEO, Uyi Ogbebor (@sir_uyi), the management maintained that its long-standing partnerships with major global distributors ensure strict authenticity and traceability of all products served at the venue.

The club specifically referenced its collaborations with international alcohol suppliers, including Moët Hennessy and Pernod Ricard, insisting that such structured supply chains make the circulation of counterfeit products within its premises “impossible.”

“The idea that fake drinks could ever be found at Vaniti is not just false; it is impossible given the structure mentioned above,” the statement read.

The rebuttal follows viral claims on TikTok by an individual who alleged that he and friends visiting from Moscow experienced stomach discomfort after patronising the club in Lagos. The user further accused the establishment of serving counterfeit drinks but did not provide verifiable evidence such as receipts, medical reports, or proof of visit.

The club, while questioning the credibility of the allegation, also raised concerns about the authenticity of the source, noting that the individual did not appear to be based in Nigeria and had not provided supporting documentation for the claims.

“We seriously raise very pertinent questions about the true motives and sponsorship behind these allegations,” the management stated, adding that it is actively working to investigate the matter.

Vaniti also called on patrons who were present on the night in question to come forward with any relevant information that could help clarify the situation and support transparency.

Amid the controversy, CEO Uyi Ogbebor has taken to social media to respond more directly, suggesting he intends to eventually publish a detailed account of his business journey, including disputes and challenges faced along the way.

In separate posts, he hinted at documenting his experiences in a forthcoming book, stating that it would include “every deal, every betrayal, every lesson, names, dates, receipts,” while also warning that he would no longer remain silent in the face of what he described as ongoing attacks on his brand.
