The partnership framework was formalised during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the NIPR Lagos Chapter to the President and Chairman of Council of the LCCI, Leye Kupoluyi.
The NIPR delegation was led by the Chapter Chairman, Samuel Ayetutu, alongside other executive members of the association.
According to both organisations, the collaboration will focus on specialised training programmes, workshops and professional engagements designed to strengthen communication competencies among entrepreneurs, corporate executives, business leaders and communication professionals across different sectors of the economy.
The initiative is expected to provide businesses with improved strategic communication skills needed to manage reputation, stakeholder engagement and corporate positioning in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing business environment.
Speaking during the engagement, LCCI President Leye Kupoluyi reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to partnerships capable of improving the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of Nigerian businesses.
He noted that strategic communication and effective public relations have become increasingly important in promoting trade opportunities, attracting investment and building stakeholder confidence.
“Effective public relations and strategic communication remain critical to promoting trade, investment opportunities, stakeholder trust and corporate reputation in today’s dynamic business environment,” Kupoluyi stated.
In his remarks, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu described communication as a vital strategic asset for modern organisations, stressing that businesses can no longer treat public relations as a secondary function.
“Effective communication is no longer a peripheral function, but a critical driver of business growth, reputation management and stakeholder engagement in today’s dynamic economic landscape,” he said.
“By synergising the expertise of public relations professionals with the robust network of the organised private sector, we are actively equipping businesses with the strategic communication tools necessary to navigate complex markets, build enduring trust and attract sustainable investments,” Ayetutu added.
The meeting also explored future collaborative initiatives focused on promoting ethical communication standards, strengthening institutional relationships and encouraging knowledge-sharing between communication professionals and the wider business community.
Members of the NIPR Lagos delegation included Samuel O. Adeyemi, General Secretary; Bamiji Adeleye, Treasurer; and Rita Ali-Nock, Assistant General Secretary and IT Officer.
Representatives of the LCCI present at the meeting included Sunday Osanyintuyi, Abosede Okeyemi and Yeye Shobanjo.
Industry observers say the partnership reflects a growing recognition among business institutions and communication professionals of the critical role strategic communication plays in economic growth, investor confidence and organisational sustainability.
The collaboration also aligns with broader efforts to improve professionalism, ethical standards and stakeholder engagement practices across Nigeria’s corporate and public sectors.
