A fiercely contested scoring race in the Turkish top flight ended with a shared crown, as Trabzonspor’s Paul Onuachu and İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov were both named joint winners of the 2025/2026 Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot after finishing level on goals.

The final standings brought an end to a season-long battle that kept fans and analysts tracking every matchday twist, with both forwards ultimately finishing ahead of Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen in the race for the league’s top scorer award.

Onuachu’s 22-Goal Season Seals the Prize

The Nigerian striker delivered one of his most productive campaigns in Europe, ending the season with 22 league goals for Trabzonspor.

His consistency in front of goal, particularly in decisive fixtures, proved crucial as he maintained his position at the top of the scoring charts through the closing stages of the season.

The Nigeria Football Federation also acknowledged his achievement, celebrating his form on social media:

“Paul Onuachu was a force to reckon with, scoring 22 goals in the Süper Lig this season,” the federation said.

Shomurodov Shares the Spotlight

Matching that tally, Eldor Shomurodov of İstanbul Başakşehir also finished with approximately 22 goals, ensuring the Golden Boot would be shared rather than decided by a single margin.

Both strikers maintained strong scoring rhythms throughout the campaign, rarely separated in the standings during the final weeks of the season.

Osimhen and the Rest of the Chase

The chasing pack featured several high-profile names, including Fenerbahçe’s Anderson Talisca, who finished with 19 goals.

Galatasaray’s marquee forward Victor Osimhen ended the season with 15 league goals, a respectable return but short of the top-tier scorers despite several standout performances.

His teammate Mauro Icardi also contributed 14 goals, helping keep Galatasaray competitive in the attacking rankings.

A Season Defined by Margins

While the Golden Boot race remained tightly packed for much of the campaign, Onuachu’s late-season consistency ultimately proved decisive in keeping him level with Shomurodov at the top.

The shared award reflects just how narrow the margins were in one of the most competitive scoring battles in recent Süper Lig history.
