Fast-rising Nollywood actress Ogechukwu Anasor has candidly spoken about undergoing cosmetic procedures, revealing that she is pleased with the outcome and has no regrets about her decision.
In an interview with NollyNow, the actress disclosed that she recently enhanced her physique through cosmetic surgery, stressing that the choice was entirely personal.
“I got my body done and I’m absolutely loving it,” she said.
Addressing public reactions to her transformation, Anasor maintained that individuals should be free to make decisions about their bodies without facing undue criticism.
“My body, my money, my choice. It was a personal decision that I made for myself, and I’m happy with it,” she said.
The actress also responded to critics who have questioned her decision, emphasizing that she remains focused on her own happiness rather than public approval.
“Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but at the end of the day, it’s my life and my decision. Do what works for you, and allow me to do what works for me. And please, let’s be honest, I’m not the problem of Nigeria.”
A Decade of Growth in Nollywood
Anasor, who hails from Enugu State and has spent ten years building her career in Nollywood, reflected on her journey in the film industry, describing it as a period of continuous growth and self-discovery.
According to her, resilience, confidence, and determination have helped her navigate the challenges of the entertainment industry, especially when faced with attempts to limit her potential.
“Acting has actually helped me discover different parts of myself, build confidence, and embrace my individuality. It’s been a journey of growth both professionally and personally.”
She noted that despite obstacles and setbacks, she never allowed directors or industry gatekeepers to define her capabilities or restrict her ambitions.
Looking back on her career, the actress said she is proud of the progress she has made and the lessons she has learned along the way.
“Every challenge has shaped me into a stronger and wiser woman,” she added.
Staying Focused Amid Social Media Pressure
Like many public figures, Anasor acknowledged the pressures that come with constant scrutiny on social media. However, she said she has learned to separate constructive criticism from negativity and remain focused on her personal and professional goals.
“Social media can be loud, but I’ve learned not to let public opinion dictate my decisions. I listen to constructive feedback, but I stay focused on my goals, my growth, and the kind of career I want to build.”
The actress added that she consciously protects her mental wellbeing by avoiding unnecessary engagement with trolls and online negativity.
“Not everyone will understand you, and that’s okay. I focus on the people who genuinely support me and the work I’m doing. Protecting my mental space is very important to me.”
Choosing Authenticity Over Perfection
Speaking on the expectations placed on celebrities, Anasor admitted that there is often pressure to maintain a flawless image. Nevertheless, she believes authenticity matters more than trying to appear perfect at all times.
“I’ve realized that authenticity is more important than perfection. I love looking good, but I also give myself room to simply be human.”
The actress further revealed that one of her major goals this year is to prioritize her wellbeing, relationships, and personal development.
According to her, living intentionally has become a guiding principle, helping her make healthier choices and invest her energy in people and opportunities that align with her values.
“It’s still a work in progress, but I’ve become more conscious about protecting my peace, taking care of my health, and investing my time in people and opportunities that align with my values. I’ve learned that living intentionally is not about perfection, it’s about making better choices consistently.”
As conversations around body enhancement and self-image continue within the entertainment industry, Anasor's remarks highlight a growing trend among celebrities who are increasingly open about cosmetic procedures while advocating personal choice and self-confidence.
