Former Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate Thelma Lawson has opened up on the reason she declined a romantic proposal from fellow reality star Rooboy during their time on the show.
Speaking during the final episode of the reunion aired on Friday night, Thelma said her decision was influenced by the kind of role model she wants around her son, stressing that Rooboy did not fit that image.
According to her, factors such as his personality, lifestyle, and appearance contributed to her decision to keep their relationship strictly platonic.
“Rooboy could not even spell correctly. I do not want him around my son. He is too loud and his tattoos are not the lifestyle that I want. We can be friends, just friends,” she said.
The reality star further alleged that Rooboy did not take the rejection lightly and subsequently began portraying her as a bitter person.
Rooboy, however, acknowledged that he expressed romantic interest in Thelma but denied being upset after she turned him down.
While addressing the issue, he shifted attention to fellow housemate Otega, accusing him of betraying his trust for personal gain.
“I told Thelma that I liked her and would like to date her. I was talking to Otega as a brother not knowing he was also in the picture,” he said.
