The long-running public conversation around actress Judy Austin and Nollywood star Yul Edochie has resurfaced once again, this time driven by fresh and emotionally charged claims from Judy Austin’s former husband, Emmanuel Obasi.
Appearing on the Honest Bunch podcast, Obasi revisited what he described as a deeply personal relationship with Judy that, according to him, produced two children before eventually breaking down. His account, delivered during a live broadcast that was still ongoing at the time of reporting, quickly drew attention online as he detailed what he believes were early signs of betrayal and emotional strain.
One of his central allegations focused less on direct confrontation and more on what he claims were repeated expressions from Judy Austin about Yul Edochie while they were still married. He alleged that she openly admired the actor whenever he appeared on television, and even made her feelings known to him directly.
“She would be telling me to my face that she loves Yul and be praising him,” he said, adding that she once explained her attraction by saying Edochie’s voice reminded her of a relative.
Obasi further claimed that Judy mentioned meeting Edochie during her university years, describing him as someone who told her she was “too beautiful” to be where she was at the time, and allegedly offered assistance to the couple in a supportive capacity. According to Obasi, he dismissed the situation at the time, believing there was no cause for concern.
He also recounted what he now interprets as a series of warning signs during their marriage—unexplained absences, late returns, and explanations he says he accepted without suspicion at the time. One such incident involved Judy allegedly failing to return home overnight, with claims that she later said she had been held back at school.
Looking back, Obasi said the pattern now appears more significant to him, pointing to what he believes were inconsistencies in her explanations and growing emotional distance. He also made additional allegations involving theft during the course of the relationship.
At several points during the podcast, Obasi became visibly emotional, presenting photographs he said were from their traditional wedding ceremony and claiming he had invested heavily in the event, including funding attire for 18 bridesmaids.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Judy Austin nor Yul Edochie has publicly responded to the claims made during the broadcast.
