Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funmi Awelewa has opened up about her emotional state, revealing she is currently going through a difficult phase marked by exhaustion, pain, and reflection on past experiences.
In a deeply personal message shared on her social media page, the actress expressed frustration over repeated experiences of betrayal and emotional disappointment, saying she feels drained from the pattern she has faced over the years.
“I’m tired!! For the first time!! I’m tired of Agbaromoni ta koni. Oga tomu aparo’moni tako ni lowo. Every time, every year!” she wrote, conveying the weight of her emotions.
She further reflected on deeper wounds, linking her present struggles to unresolved childhood trauma. “It took me years to heal from betrayal and childhood trauma. Orijafunmi is a name, but at this point, make Allah fight this battle, abeg,” she added.
The actress did not hold back in describing her emotional vulnerability, stating: “For the first time in my life, I’m Tired! Looking back on what I experienced while growing up, the same issues. Today I break down feeling lonely and sad!!!!! I’m tired of meeting the wrong people.”
She also expressed disappointment about her relationships and trust in others, saying she often struggles to find genuine connections. “I’m not lucky in seeing myself in people,” she wrote, concluding her post with a plea for divine intervention.
