Telecommunications users on the Globacom network now have more flexible ways to stay connected after the company upgraded its well-known “Borrow Me Credit” service with additional features designed to reduce disruptions when airtime or data runs out.

The enhancement introduces two key options—“Borrow Special Data” and “Borrow Airtime/Data for Others”—broadening the service beyond individual emergency top-ups to include support for friends and family members who may also be temporarily unable to recharge.

According to the company, the upgraded offering is targeted at ensuring continuous access to voice and internet services, particularly in situations where connectivity is critical for work, communication, or emergencies.

Simplified Access and Wider Eligibility

Globacom explained that it has eased the eligibility criteria for the service, enabling a larger number of active prepaid customers across Nigeria to instantly access airtime and data support when needed. The initiative, however, includes a service charge applied on borrowed credit.

The telecom operator also emphasized that the feature is structured to serve different usage levels, with borrowing options ranging from as low as ₦25 up to ₦4,000, giving subscribers the freedom to choose amounts that match their immediate needs.

Beyond convenience, the company said customer activity on the network plays a role in determining borrowing capacity, encouraging consistent usage as a pathway to higher limits over time.

Stronger Connectivity Through Shared Support

A major highlight of the new upgrade is the ability for users to extend support to others within the network ecosystem, reinforcing the social aspect of mobile connectivity.

“The new options enable customers to support friends and family members who may be unable to recharge immediately, further strengthening connectivity within the Glo community,” the statement read.

Tiered Benefits and How to Access the Service

Under the revised structure, more engaged customers are rewarded with greater access levels, allowing for increased borrowing limits as their usage history improves over time.

“Under the tiered structure, prepaid subscribers who maintain consistent activity on the network can unlock higher airtime and data limits over time, allowing them to enjoy greater flexibility and uninterrupted access to digital services.

“Eligible prepaid customers can access the service by dialing *303# and selecting their preferred airtime or data option,” the statement read.
