Nollywood actress and TV host Osas Ighodaro has secured a lead role in an upcoming micro-drama series titled Imported Bahu, a production that blends Nollywood and Bollywood storytelling in a cross-cultural romance format.
The announcement was made on Monday via Instagram by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, who revealed that the project brings together Ighodaro and Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall in a storyline centered on love, family secrets, and cultural collision.
Described as a Nolly-Bollywood comedy-drama, Imported Bahu is set to explore how relationships evolve when traditions, expectations, and hidden truths intersect within a blended cultural setting.
According to Ahuja, the series is scheduled to premiere on 2 July 2026 and will be available exclusively on LebaraPlay, a telecoms-owned micro-drama streaming platform focused on vertical short-form content.
In her announcement post, Ahuja wrote:
“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu — @forever7entertainment’s first vertical microdrama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”
She further noted the cast and release details, adding:
“Created by: @hamishadaryaniahuja. Starring: @officialosas and @rajnieshduggall. Trailer out now! Premiering July 2nd on Lebara Play, Africa’s first telecoms-owned microdrama platform. And one question…Do you know what a vertical drama is?”
The project is produced by Ahuja, who is also known for her work on films such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards, where she has built a reputation for bridging Indian and African film industries through collaborative storytelling.
With Imported Bahu, expectations are high that the series will further expand the growing space for short-form, mobile-first entertainment while strengthening creative ties between Nollywood and Bollywood audiences.
