Afrobeats star Ruger is preparing a comeback to the music scene following a period of legal and personal challenges that temporarily halted his releases, according to his management.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by Blown Boy Entertainment, the label founded by the singer after his exit from Jonzing World, confirming that the dispute which kept him away from music has now been resolved.
Legal Dispute Behind Temporary Hiatus
In its statement, the label explained that Ruger’s absence from the spotlight was linked to a legal case filed by a former partner who alleged emotional distress and damages.
“We know it’s been a while since Ruger dropped new music. For some time, Ruger was caught up in a series of personal challenges after someone he dated decided to sue him for alleged ‘emotional distress’ and ‘damages’,” the statement read.
According to the management, the matter has now been concluded, clearing the way for the singer to fully refocus on his creative work.
“That chapter is now behind him. A new chapter begins. A new energy emerges,” the statement added.
“Ruger is Back” as New Projects Take Shape
Blown Boy Entertainment said the Afrobeats star has already returned to the studio, working on new material as he prepares for a fresh phase in his career.
“Ruger is back to doing what he loves most – making music. And best believe, he has been cooking,” the label stated, signalling new releases in the pipeline.
The management also used the opportunity to thank fans for their patience during his absence, acknowledging the anticipation that built up while he was off the music circuit.
“We would like to sincerely thank everyone who remained patient and continued to support Ruger throughout the silence. Your loyalty and belief have meant everything,” it said.
Global Tour Schedule Announced
Alongside his return to music production, the label confirmed Ruger’s upcoming international performance schedule, with appearances planned across multiple continents.
The tour includes stops in Belgium, Málaga, Bali, Malawi, and the United States, marking a significant global push as the singer re-engages with his audience.
“August belongs to us. Stay tuned, enjoy your summer and get ready for what’s next,” the statement added.

Born Michael Adebayo, Michael Adebayo (Ruger) rose to prominence as one of the fast-rising voices in contemporary Afrobeats before founding Blown Boy Entertainment in January 2024 following his departure from Jonzing World.
His return comes at a time when Afrobeats continues to expand its global reach, with Nigerian artists increasingly commanding international stages and festival circuits.
With legal issues now resolved and a packed performance calendar ahead, Ruger’s management says the singer is entering what they describe as a renewed creative chapter—one that is expected to bring new music and a stronger global presence in the months ahead.
