Just weeks after releasing her original song for the blockbuster animated film Toy Story 5, Taylor Swift has added another historic achievement to her long list of career milestones.

Her latest single, I Knew It, I Knew You, has made an immediate impact across streaming platforms, digital sales and radio airplay, but it is the song's performance on Billboard's Radio Songs chart that has placed Swift in a category entirely of her own.

The track debuted at No. 7 on Billboard's Radio Songs chart, one of the most competitive airplay rankings in the United States. The chart measures total audience impressions generated across radio stations nationwide and serves as the industry's primary benchmark for radio popularity.

While Swift is no stranger to chart success, the debut of "I Knew It, I Knew You" has helped her achieve something no artist has ever accomplished before.

A Historic First on Radio

According to Billboard, "I Knew It, I Knew You" is Swift's second song to debut directly inside the top 10 of the Radio Songs chart, making her the first artist in the chart's history to achieve that feat more than once.

The singer first reached that milestone in October 2025 when The Fate of Ophelia, the lead single from her album The Life of a Showgirl, also entered the chart at No. 7.

With the arrival of "I Knew It, I Knew You," Swift now stands alone in Billboard history as the only act to score multiple top-10 debuts on the Radio Songs chart.

Joining an Exclusive Club

Top-10 debuts on the Radio Songs chart are exceptionally rare.

Before Swift's two entries, only four other songs had managed to enter the chart's upper tier upon release. Those tracks were:

  • All for You by Janet Jackson, which debuted at No. 9 in 2001.
  • Born This Way by Lady Gaga, which opened at No. 6 in 2011.
  • Easy on Me by Adele, which debuted at No. 4 in 2021 and still holds the record for the highest debut in Radio Songs chart history.
  • Lift Me Up by Rihanna, which entered at No. 6 in 2022.

Janet Jackson became the first artist ever to debut inside the Radio Songs top 10. A decade later, Lady Gaga joined the exclusive group, before Adele raised the bar with a record-setting No. 4 debut. Rihanna later matched the elite achievement before Swift eventually became the first artist to accomplish it twice.

Another Win for the Toy Story Anthem

"I Knew It, I Knew You" was written and recorded for Toy Story 5 and was inspired by the character Jessie, the beloved cowgirl from the animated franchise. Swift co-wrote and co-produced the song alongside longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff.

The singer recently revealed that after watching an early screening of the film, she became so inspired that she wrote, recorded and produced the song in a matter of hours.

The track has also generated enormous success beyond radio. It has broken several streaming records across major platforms and debuted strongly on multiple Billboard rankings.

Debuts on 13 Billboard Charts

Billboard reports that "I Knew It, I Knew You" entered 13 different Billboard charts in its first week, demonstrating its widespread appeal across multiple formats.

Among its strongest showings were:

  • No. 7 on Radio Songs
  • No. 8 on Country Airplay
  • No. 9 on Adult Contemporary
  • No. 13 on Adult Pop Airplay
  • No. 20 on Pop Airplay

The song's immediate success on country radio was particularly notable, with industry reports describing it as one of the strongest country radio launches by a female artist in recent memory.

Swift's Growing Radio Legacy

With "I Knew It, I Knew You" becoming her latest radio success, Swift has now charted 55 songs on Billboard's Radio Songs chart throughout her career.

Of those entries, 24 have reached the top 10, further cementing her status as one of the most successful radio artists of the modern era.

Her previous Radio Songs top-10 hits include:

  • Anti-Hero
  • Back to December
  • Bad Blood (featuring Kendrick Lamar)
  • Blank Space
  • Cruel Summer
  • Delicate
  • Fortnight (featuring Post Malone)
  • I Don't Wanna Live Forever (with Zayn)
  • I Knew You Were Trouble
  • Is It Over Now? (Taylor's Version)
  • Karma

  • Shake It Off
  • Style

  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
  • Wildest Dreams
  • You Belong With Me

Eight of those songs eventually climbed all the way to No. 1.

Given its powerful opening week and widespread support across streaming, sales and radio, industry observers believe "I Knew It, I Knew You" could soon join that list and challenge for the top spot on the Radio Songs chart in the weeks ahead.

For now, however, the song has already secured its place in Billboard history, giving Swift yet another record in a career that continues to redefine what chart success looks like.
