Company opens emergency assistance programme beyond Chery owners, promises faster response and improved motoring experience.

Carloha Nigeria, the authorised distributor of Chery vehicles in Nigeria, has introduced a new nationwide roadside assistance programme aimed at providing immediate support to motorists who experience vehicle breakdowns on highways and major roads across the country.

The initiative, known as the CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue Initiative, offers free emergency roadside assistance and is designed to provide motorists with access to trained rescue professionals whenever they encounter unexpected vehicle challenges.

The programme represents a major expansion of Carloha Nigeria’s customer support strategy, taking after-sales service beyond traditional workshop repairs and extending assistance directly to motorists wherever they may be stranded.

Through a dedicated emergency hotline, motorists requiring assistance can contact the CarlohaCare Rescue team by dialling 07000 667 667. Once a distress call is received, a professionally trained rescue crew is deployed to assess the situation and provide the required support.

Although response times will depend on the motorist’s location, road conditions and accessibility, Carloha Nigeria stated that every emergency request will receive a professional dispatch response, ensuring that stranded motorists are not left without assistance.

The new rescue programme builds on the success of the company’s award-winning CarlohaCare 6-6-7 after-sales package, which was recently recognised as the “Most Outstanding Aftersales Car Company” at the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards.

The CarlohaCare 6-6-7 package consists of three major ownership benefits: a six-year manufacturer’s warranty, six years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, and a seven-day repair promise. Under the repair promise, customers receive a courtesy vehicle when repairs extend beyond seven working days due to parts availability or other qualifying circumstances.

With the Rescue Initiative, Carloha Nigeria is extending this commitment from the service centre to the road, offering motorists greater confidence and convenience throughout their vehicle ownership journey.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Carloha Nigeria’s After-sales Manager, Mr. Samson Akinbowale, said unexpected breakdowns often place motorists in difficult and stressful situations, making reliable emergency support essential.

“Vehicle breakdowns can occur unexpectedly and often create stressful situations for motorists. With the CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue Initiative, our customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that a dedicated team of trained professionals is available around the clock to provide prompt assistance whenever they need it,” Akinbowale said.

He added that the programme goes beyond recovery services by providing technical support that can help reduce vehicle downtime for both individual motorists and fleet operators.

“Beyond rescue operations, we are also offering on-location maintenance support to help reduce downtime for both individual customers and fleet operators,” he stated.

Similarly, the General Manager of Marketing at Carloha Nigeria, Mr. Felix Mahan, described the initiative as another step in the company’s effort to redefine vehicle ownership in Nigeria through stronger customer support.

According to Mahan, the programme reflects Carloha Nigeria’s commitment to ensuring that motorists have access to assistance whenever they need it.

“The CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue Initiative is an extension of our vision to provide a superior ownership experience and eliminate the worries that come with vehicle ownership. We want every Chery owner to know that help is always just a phone call away,” he said.

In a move aimed at improving road safety and supporting more Nigerian motorists, Carloha Nigeria announced that the roadside rescue service will also be available to owners of non-Chery vehicles for a limited period, subject to operational capacity.

The company noted that Chery customers will continue to receive priority support during periods of high demand, while other motorists can access the service by calling the same emergency number and confirming eligibility at the point of request.

Mahan explained that the decision to extend the service beyond Chery owners was driven by the company’s desire to contribute positively to safer roads and improved mobility across the country.

“We have the team, the trucks, and the expertise,” he said. “When our rescue fleet has capacity to spare, it is our responsibility to put those resources to work keeping Nigeria’s roads moving—regardless of what brand a stranded motorist drives.”

He further described the move as a first-of-its-kind effort in Nigeria’s automotive sector.

“This is an unprecedented industry-first for Nigeria. By extending these free rescue services to both our clients and users of competing brands, we are demonstrating a firm commitment to elevating overall safety on Nigerian roads,” Mahan added.

Beyond emergency recovery and towing support, the CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue Initiative also provides on-location maintenance and technical assistance for fleet operators and individual customers, with applicable service charges for certain maintenance-related interventions.

The company said the initiative is expected to reduce unnecessary workshop visits, minimise vehicle downtime and provide motorists with greater confidence while travelling.

Motorists seeking assistance can access the rescue service through 07000 667 667, while updates on service availability and coverage areas will be communicated through Carloha Nigeria’s official platforms.
