Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to give fans an early taste of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, ‘Oriade’, with an exclusive live premiere scheduled to hold in London on August 11.
The singer made the announcement through a post on his X account on Friday, inviting fans to attend what he described as a special one-time performance of the new project.
Davido, who is also known by his nickname OBO, revealed that the London event at the O2 Forum Kentish Town would provide the first and only opportunity for fans to hear the album performed live before its official release.
“London! Join me on Aug. 11 at the O2 Forum Kentish Town for a very special show.
“This will be the first and only chance to hear Oriade performed live, so if you want to experience the new album before anyone else. Tickets are on sale now I’ll see you there!” he wrote.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Davido had earlier announced that ‘Oriade’ would arrive on July 31, marking another major milestone in his celebrated career.
The album title, derived from the Yoruba words “ori” meaning destiny and “adé” meaning crown, translates to “the crowned head” — a theme that reflects Davido’s journey, achievements and confidence after more than a decade in the music industry.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the project, the singer said the album represents his 15-year journey in music and his belief in following his passion despite uncertainty.
“Over fifteen years ago, I decided to trust something I couldn’t fully explain. I just knew music was my destiny,” he told Billboard.
“The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet,” he added.
The album’s lead single, “I Know Who I Be,” featuring South African producers Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, has already been released and offers listeners an introduction to the sound and direction of the forthcoming project.
Unlike some of his recent global crossover efforts, ‘Oriade’ is expected to represent a return to Davido’s energetic African sound, with the 13-track album leaning more towards the Afrobeats style that established him as one of the continent’s biggest music exports.
The project follows his 2025 album “5ive,” which achieved success on the Billboard charts and further strengthened Davido’s position as one of Afrobeats’ leading international figures.
With the London premiere, Davido is set to create a unique experience for fans ahead of the album’s worldwide release.
