The only solo female song to spend more time at No. 1 remains Mariah Carey's perennial holiday classic, "All I Want for Christmas Is You." Overall, "Choosin' Texas" is now the seventh-longest-running No. 1 single in Billboard Hot 100 history.
The success of the single also places it among the biggest country hits ever to top the chart. It trails only Morgan Wallen's "Last Night" and Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" among the longest-running No. 1 country songs, highlighting the genre's continued dominance in mainstream music.
Featuring a distinctive lap steel guitar performance and co-written by country music star Miranda Lambert, "Choosin' Texas" has been widely credited as one of the defining crossover country records of the current era, attracting audiences well beyond traditional country music fans.
Reflecting on the song's remarkable success, Langley admitted that neither she nor her collaborators anticipated its historic impact.
"I mean, we loved the song when we wrote it," Langley told reporters during a news conference in March. "But did we think it could do something like this? I don't know how you could predict that."
The single first climbed to No. 1 in February before being temporarily displaced by chart releases from major artists including Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Drake and Ariana Grande.
