New ‘Book Now, Fly Later’ programme offers customers up to ₦10 million for international air tickets with flexible repayment options.
First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has partnered with 247 Travels to introduce a travel financing programme that allows eligible customers to purchase international flight tickets and repay the cost over time.
The initiative, known as “Book Now, Fly Later,” enables qualified borrowers to access up to ₦10 million to cover airfare expenses, with repayment periods ranging from three to nine months.
The programme is designed to make international travel more accessible for Nigerians by helping customers manage expenses linked to business trips, education, medical needs, tourism and family-related journeys without the pressure of paying the full ticket cost upfront.
Powered by FCMB Premium Banking, the facility is exclusively available for airline tickets booked through 247 Travels. Salaried and self-employed FCMB customers who meet the bank’s eligibility requirements can apply for the financing.
Successful applicants are expected to receive approval and loan disbursement within 24 working hours, allowing them to complete their travel arrangements quickly.
The partnership combines FCMB’s lending expertise with 247 Travels’ travel booking platform, providing customers with a flexible payment alternative as demand for instalment-based financial solutions continues to increase globally.
“At FCMB, we believe banking should empower people to pursue their goals without unnecessary financial strain,” FCMB Managing Director Yemisi Edun said.
“Our Book Now, Fly Later solution makes travel more accessible and affordable while giving customers flexibility to manage their finances responsibly,” she added.
Edun said the initiative reflects the bank’s wider strategy of using innovation and partnerships to promote inclusive growth and develop solutions that address customers’ evolving needs.
“We will continue to develop products and partnerships that simplify financial decisions and create value for our customers,” she said.
247 Travels Managing Director Tunji Adeyemi said the programme responds to a major challenge faced by many travellers — the need to pay the full cost of flight tickets before departure.
“Travellers increasingly want flexibility and convenience,” Adeyemi said. “Our partnership with FCMB enables customers to secure flights and spread payments over time.”
FCMB Group Head of Premium Banking, Opeyemi Makinwa, described the initiative as part of the bank’s efforts to provide lifestyle-focused financial solutions through strategic collaborations.
“Customers expect financial services that fit naturally into their lives,” Makinwa said. “Book Now, Fly Later provides greater flexibility and financial control.”
Customers interested in accessing the facility can apply through FCMB’s Book Now, Fly Later platform or the 247 Travels website by selecting their preferred flight and completing a financing request.
Once approved, the loan will be disbursed and the flight ticket issued through 247 Travels, allowing customers to proceed with their travel plans while managing repayment over an agreed period.
