Afrobeat musician Femi Kuti has humorously revealed that he would rather stay away from any online controversy involving celebrity dancer Korra Obidi, following their recent meeting after a live concert in Lagos.
The singer made the remark while jokingly declining to take a photograph with the dancer, suggesting that he wanted to avoid any situation that could attract unnecessary public attention.
BrandIconImage reports that Femi Kuti’s reaction came months after a controversy involving Korra Obidi’s visit to the gravesite of legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti in December 2025, where her twerking dance tribute sparked mixed reactions online.
In a video shared by Korra on Instagram on Friday, the dancer captured the moment she met Femi Kuti and his elder sister, Yeni Kuti, at Legacy Studios after her private live concert.
While explaining his reluctance to appear in the picture alone with Korra, Femi Kuti jokingly said he already had enough challenges to handle and did not need additional drama.
Calling on Yeni Kuti to join them for the photograph, the musician said:
“YK come and enter this picture, I don’t want any problems in my life. I have enough problems. Seems the gods don’t even want this picture, that’s why it’s raining.”
Korra Obidi, who shared the video of the encounter, described the meeting as an honour and praised the Kuti family for the opportunity to interact with them.
Captioning the post, she wrote:
