Johnvents Group has reinforced its commitment to sustainable business practices with the release of its inaugural Sustainability Report, outlining a comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework aimed at driving responsible growth, transparency and long-term value creation.

The multinational agribusiness and manufacturing company said the report marks a significant milestone in its sustainability journey, detailing how it is aligning its operations with internationally recognised ESG standards while strengthening environmental stewardship, corporate governance and social responsibility across its businesses.

The report presents the company's long-term strategy for sustainable development and transparent reporting, demonstrating its commitment to accountability to investors, customers, employees, host communities and other stakeholders.

Prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 13: Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fishing Sectors 2022 Standard, the report also incorporates a Double Materiality Assessment aligned with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), reflecting the company's efforts to meet evolving global sustainability reporting expectations.

Covering the 2025 reporting period, the publication provides a consolidated overview of sustainability performance across Johnvents Group's subsidiaries, including Johnvents Foods, Johnvents Industries, Premium Cocoa Products, Ile-Oluji and Noble-Eagle.

Speaking on the significance of the publication, the Founder and Group Managing Director of Johnvents Group, John Alamu, described the report as an important step in the company's transformation towards responsible and sustainable growth.

According to him, the report signals the beginning of a new phase in the organisation's approach to measuring, managing and reporting its environmental and social impact while maintaining accountability to stakeholders.

Alamu said the company's immediate focus is to strengthen implementation, deepen governance structures, expand sustainability initiatives throughout its value chain and build a resilient, globally competitive enterprise.

Highlighting some of the company's achievements under its sustainability agenda, he said:

"As part of our sustainability agenda, the company has screened more than 50,000 farms to monitor deforestation risks, intensified the implementation of its 150,000 Cocoa Farmers Empowerment Programme and expanded farm-to-warehouse traceability systems to comply with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and Rainforest Alliance certification requirements."

The report also outlines several key sustainability initiatives undertaken by the company, including the establishment of its first greenhouse gas inventory in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, enhanced climate governance measures, stronger deforestation risk management systems and the implementation of its Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP).

In addition, the company said it has strengthened its corporate governance framework by introducing enhanced board-level oversight and creating specialised functions dedicated to responsible sourcing, sustainable finance, carbon management, regulatory compliance and occupational health and safety.

Also speaking, Group Executive Director Tarun Chawla emphasised that sustainability has become an essential driver of business resilience, operational excellence and long-term value creation.

According to him, the newly released report reflects the company's progress in embedding sustainability across its operations while reinforcing its commitment to responsible business practices and shared value creation.

Chawla added that Johnvents Group remains focused on building resilient agricultural value chains capable of supporting farmers, employees, customers, investors, host communities and the environment through transparent reporting, continuous improvement and responsible corporate leadership.

With growing global emphasis on ESG compliance, climate resilience and sustainable agricultural production, the publication of Johnvents Group's first Sustainability Report positions the company among organisations seeking to align with international best practices while enhancing competitiveness in both local and global markets.
