Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has come under renewed public scrutiny after a viral video captured him making remarks about "unnecessary pregnancy" during a live performance. The clip surfaced just days after a woman publicly accused the veteran singer of abandoning her and their 12-year-old daughter.
The performance, which has generated widespread reactions across social media, followed allegations made by Ogechi Eleana during an interview with Feel Right TV. In the interview, Eleana claimed that the Fuji star refused to acknowledge or support their daughter, Azeezat, despite being informed about the pregnancy years ago.
Eleana, a graduate of Lagos State University, said she met KWAM 1 while working as his manicurist and pedicurist before their professional relationship eventually became romantic. According to her, they were together for more than seven years, during which she became pregnant.
She alleged that after informing the singer about the pregnancy, he advised her to terminate it and promised to send money through one of his aides to facilitate the abortion. However, she claimed the promised money never came.
Determined to keep the pregnancy, Eleana said she carried the child to term but alleged that the singer subsequently cut off communication with her and refused to take responsibility.
Recalling her efforts to seek help, she revealed that she later approached the late Kabiru Agbabiaka, who allegedly attempted to intervene on her behalf by contacting KWAM 1 while they were at a palace.
“When the girl was a year plus, I went to Kabiru Agbabiaka. He was alive then. We went to the palace and he called Wasiu on phone but he lied against me on the phone,” she said.
Eleana further claimed she later visited the singer's late mother, who was deeply moved after seeing the child.
“His mother saw us, she looked at this baby and started tears. That was the first time I was seeing Wasiu Ayinde’s mother. She said, ‘I am still alive and I have given birth to myself.’ The girl took the face of the mother.”
Also speaking during the interview, Azeezat appealed directly to the Fuji star for financial assistance, alleging that she has struggled without his support. She claimed the last time she saw him was on July 30, 2025, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, where he allegedly denied knowing her and her mother.
“I heard that my father is a billionaire, if not a trillionaire. I was told that he has money. He should help me. I am tired. Things are not working. Tell him to help me,” she said.
As the interview continued to circulate online, another video emerged showing KWAM 1 performing at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Onikate of Ikate, Oba Lateef Adams. During the event, the singer made comments that many social media users linked to the ongoing controversy, although he did not explicitly mention Eleana or the allegations against him.
Addressing the audience, the Fuji musician said:
“On your phone, turn on Bluetooth. Go to TikTok, then go to Facebook.”
He then sang:
“Anybody who has an unnecessary pregnancy is just like a giveaway.”
As members of the audience reacted, he added:
“These children, don’t kill me. Go and say it on TikTok.”
The performance has since fueled online debate, with many interpreting the lyrics as a response to the allegations, while others argued that no direct connection could be established because the singer never mentioned Eleana, Azeezat, or the paternity claims during the performance.
As of the time of this report, KWAM 1 has not publicly addressed the paternity allegation or specifically responded to claims that he abandoned Eleana and their daughter. His stage remarks have, however, continued to attract mixed reactions, keeping the controversy firmly in the public spotlight.
